PUSHKAR LAKE
Pushkar Lake is the pond of spiritual aqua surrounded by around 400 temples and 52 bathing Ghats. It is one of the sacred lakes of India. It is considered that this lake was created with the lotus blossom dropped from the hand of Lord Brahma, during the battle with the demon vajranabha. It is same destination where the sage Vishwamitra mediated for the thousands of years. Also the Sanskrit poet and writer Kalidas chose the setting for his masterpiece Abhigyanam Shankuntalam here. This lake is most sacred as its each and every Ghat has unique and different spiritual effects. The Naga Kund is believed to give fertility, Roop Tirth gives beauty and charm, Kapil Vyapi Kund water helps in curing leprosy and a dip in the Mrikand Muni Kund grants the boon of wisdom. Crystal clear aqua of Pushkar Lake is full with eternal spiritual powers. One can come across many priest and monks around the Ghats of lake. When sun spread its first rays during dawn and during sunset the picturesque of lake is seems like a pond of heaven soar over the purple sky. Thousands of devotees visit the lake every year, the most on the night of Kartik Poornima (Around November), to take a dip in the lake and cleanse their immortal souls of sin and attain salvation.
